Room to Grow
How do you go about creating a children’s space that feels fun but, isn’t overly juvenille? It can be a challenge to create something that grows with your child but, we thought we would share a few ideas that might give you some food for thought!
1. It’s not always necessary to rely on “children’s” furniture.
In these rooms, we did not utilize any specific children’s furnishings. Rather, we chose items that fit the homeowners’ individual styles and needs overall then added fun details to liven it up!

2. Great lighting is a must.
Lighting is a layering element that we absolutely can not live with out. Besides it’s practicality, it’s also an opportunity to add drama and flair! Who didn’t want Mom or Dad to read great book or tell a bedtime story when they were little? With a little help from a great light, bedtime stories are back!

3. Add youth and whimsey with items that are easy to update or change out.
We like to use fun pieces of art along with interesting pattern and color for bedding and pillows. It’s easy and relatively inexpensive to update when the time comes.

We’d love to know what tips our lovely readers might have for creating a space that grows with their children! Let us know in the comments, we are always thrilled to hear from you!
